Bihar 2020 Outcome: “Bihar taught the world‘s first lesson in democracy,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that the people of Bihar have taken a “decisive decision” to give development a chance as the results of the Assembly elections continue to spread, showing the NDA in power with 122 seats and the opposition alliance with 113 seats.

Prime Minister Modi’s tweets came minutes after Interior Minister Amit Shah declared victory in Bihar for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), although 50 seats were still in place.

Rashtriya Janata Dal won 55 seats and leads in 22. BJP won 48 seats and leads in 24. Janata Dal United won 32 seats and leads in 11, Congress won 14 seats and leads in five and CPI-ML won nine seats and leads with three seats. The Lok Janshakti party opened its account, winning a seat.

The election commission said the count was progressing slowly due to coronavirus restrictions.
