Bombay:
Vodafone Idea subscribers in Maharashtra have been facing connectivity issues since Thursday morning when a key site in Pune was flooded.
The company said one of its “key sites” in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune was flooded due to heavy downpours resulting in “partial service disruption” for subscribers across the state.
Unlike the tower infrastructure, which serves subscribers in a local area, the site served people across the telecom circle, which affected subscribers in the state.
“Our technical team is working with dedication to fully restore services soon,” the company said in a social media post.
Many users have taken to social media to express their frustration with the disruption of services.
Maharashtra, one of the most industrialized states, is a key telecoms market and the disruption comes at a time of fierce competition in the telecoms space where Vodafone Idea is shedding subscribers to its two rivals.
Pune and other parts of western Maharashtra have seen heavy downpours since Wednesday evening and some low-lying areas of the city have also reported logging.
