New Delhi:
An order from the Bombay High Court to reimburse taxes to the tune of Rs 833 crore to Vodafone was upheld by the Supreme Court today. The court dismissed the Center’s appeal, which challenged the High Court’s order for future assessments. The high court said the IT department did not have the power to withhold reimbursement in anticipation of future claims.
On June 26, the High Court asked the Center to make the reimbursement within 2 weeks.
