Veteran Gujarati film star-turned-politician Naresh Kanodia died in a city hospital on Tuesday, undergoing treatment for coronavirus, a hospital official said, PTI news agency reported. The 77-year-old man died at the UN Heart and Research Institute Mehta around 9:17 a.m., resident doctor Kaushik Barot said. Mr Kanodia, who was admitted to hospital on October 20 after testing positive for coronavirus, was in critical condition and had bypass surgery, the official said. His death comes two days after the death of his older brother and Gujarati singer Mahesh Kanodia at his Gandhinagar residence after a prolonged illness.
