Dehradun:
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat justified blocking the weekend in four districts of the state on Saturday, saying it would help limit transmissions from Covid-19, particularly the super-propagators of the virus.
At a review meeting on the COVID-19 cases in the district of Udham Singh Nagar, which had emerged as a home, the chief minister said that Uttarakhand was locked out last week, which has given good results. There were three super spreaders at Udham Singh Nagar, which caused an increase in COVID-19 cases there. “
“There was no information on domestic workers, as 49 people had been infected in a particular area. The implementation of the lock-up was successful in this regard,” said Rawat.
Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar are the four districts that will experience a lockout over the weekend.
He also added that 110 army personnel in Dehradun tested positive for COVID-19, of which about 100 occurred in the past 2-3 days.
“The tracking and origin of the virus will not be a problem as their travel history remains clear and we are taking care of it,” said Rawat.
In the meantime, the chief minister has said that he hopes that the situation for COVID-19 will improve next year and that the Kumbh festival should be held with traditional rituals and traditions.
In agreement with Akhara Parishad, Rawat said: “The Kumbh festival should be held in 2021 with the same rituals and traditions.”
