The governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, was in charge of Madhya Pradesh until the appointment of a regular incumbent, according to an official statement released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Lal Ji Tandon, admitted to a hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh last month, died on Tuesday.
Lal Ji Tandon, 85, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on June 11 due to breathing problems and other health concerns.
