Shopping malls in Uttar Pradesh will be allowed to apply for licenses to sell international and premium alcohol brands from July 27, the state government said in a statement. Imported alcoholic drinks will be available in shopping malls from August 25, he said.

Imported foreign spirits, Indian scotch, all brands of brandy, gin, wine, vodka and rum, priced above Rs 700, will be available in malls with beer that costs Rs 160 or more , depending on the order.

The annual license fee has been set at Rs 12 lakh and can be obtained by any individual, business, business or corporation, he said.

These stores will be allowed to operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and customers will be able to walk into outlets and choose brands from the shelves, additional chief secretary, Excise, Sanjay Bhoosreddy said in the order. However, stores will not be allowed to serve alcohol on their premises, depending on the order.

“In recent years, the tendency to shop in shopping malls has increased rapidly. Seeing this, the state decided to allow the sale of expensive foreign liquors in malls,” Bhoosreddy added. .
