The United States released a new daily record of 67,632 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours on Wednesday, according to Johns Hopkins University, which is monitoring the spread of the disease.
The world leader in infections has experienced an upsurge in the virus since the end of June, mainly in the south and west of the country.
In the past 10 days, the number of new cases reported has ranged from 55,000 to 65,000 every 24 hours.
