The United States has recorded 919 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 107,099, according to the latest real-time count released Wednesday by Johns Hopkins University.
The country – the hardest hit by the pandemic in terms of death tolls – has now confirmed nearly 1.85 million cases, the Baltimore school reported at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (00:30 GMT Thursday).
Even though the pandemic appears to be alleviating to some extent in the country, health experts are still concerned and say that the widespread anti-racist protests over the past week could cause further outbreaks.
