US President Donald Trump said on Monday that it was “excellent news” that a vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer and BioNTech was 90% effective in preventing Covid-19 infections.
“THE SCHOLARSHIP MARKET IS GROWING, A VACCINE TO COME. 90% EFFECTIVENESS REPORT. SUCH BIG NEWS!” The president tweeted minutes after Pfizer announced the development and days after losing the US presidential election to Democrat Joe Biden.
His defeat was blamed, in part, on his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, with infections surging in the United States in recent days.
