The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has taken steps to recover a total of Rs 1.37 crore from six teachers, who were sacked after discovering that they had found their jobs on the base. false documents, said an official on Wednesday.
The department has issued notices to the six dismissed teachers to recover variable amounts spent on their salaries and other allowances, said Basic Siksha Adhikari Omkar Rana.
“Last year, six teachers were caught working with false documents in the department, after which they were sacked and FIRs were also registered against them,” he said.
“Among the six, Ajit Shukla had produced a false TET (Teachers Elibility Test) certificate and obtained the post. He was dismissed and, after the registration of the FIR, also arrested,” he said.
Others were Shobhnath from Sant Kabir Nagar, Rajiv Upadhyay from Gorakhpur, Kanahaiya Singh from Balrampur, Manoj Kumar from Etah and Rajkumar from Firozabad, he said, adding that the five are still missing.
“These six teachers had paid Rs 1.37 crore as salary and other allowances for which collection notices have been served. If they do not deposit the amount before June 20, the recovery of income will be made by initiating a legal action, “said the officer. .
