New Delhi:
Uttar Pradesh gangster Vikas Dubey, accused of killing eight police officers last week, was arrested in Madhya Pradesh after a nearly week-long lawsuit involving police in three states.
Vikas Dubey was arrested in Ujjain at about the same time as two of his collaborators were killed during separate meetings in the UP. His closest collaborator, Aman Dubey, was killed yesterday.
On Friday, eight police officers were killed as they made their way as a large team to the village of Bikru, in the Chaubeypur region of Kanpur, to arrest Vikas Dubey.
Dubey – indicted in 60 criminal cases for murder, kidnapping, extortion and riot – was reportedly alerted to the raid by local police and organized an ambush.
The notorious gangster escaped after Friday’s massacre. A massive hunt was launched and the bonus on him was increased to Rs 5 lakh.
