Earlier this week, the BJP state unit issued a show cause notice to MK Surendra Singh for issuing statements in favor of Dhirendra Pratap Singh, a local party leader who was arrested for allegedly killing a man . The legislator had a week to respond to the notice.
Surendra Singh had shown open support for Dhirendra Pratap Singh, who allegedly shot dead a 46-year-old man in Ballia village in Durjanpur following a row over the allocation of ration shops on October 15.
The deputy for Bairia had defended the accused, asserting that he “opened fire in self-defense” because “it was a death or death situation for him”.
He also accused the administration of bias and demanded that action be taken against the other party.
Meanwhile, Swatantra Dev had said that the national president of the BJP
J P Nadda had requested information on this subject.
Despite a notification, the MP for Bairia continued to support Dhirendra Singh, who would be the chairman of the district unit of the BJP ex-military cell.
