Three family members of Indian descent, including an 8-year-old girl, were found dead in the pool of their recently purchased home in New Jersey, police said.

Authorities were investigating that Bharat, Nisha and her daughter were electrocuted in the pool, but ruled it out Tuesday afternoon, the New York Post reported.
According to the PTI news agency, police sources said the pool varied in depth, with a deep end or a section in the middle that was several meters, according to the report.
Investigators have yet to determine how the three family members drowned, but were concerned with whether they were good swimmers and panicked when they reached deeper waters, the report said.
The three lived in the Clearview Road home, which the family bought in April this year for $ 451,000, according to public records.
Neighbors remembered hearing screams from the backyard on Monday.
“We believe the mother was screaming from inside the pool (area) for help,” police spokesman Frank Sutter said at a press conference.
Police attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but said the three victims died at the scene, authorities said.
Mayor Brad Cohen told NJ.com that “the entire Eastern Brunswick community is shocked and saddened.”
“Our condolences go out to the family and may they find the strength of the community that shares their grief,” he said.
However, all of the family members who came on Tuesday declined to comment.
