New Delhi:

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Monday that India had shown the world that despite the coronavirus crisis, the show is going on here as well as during the pre-pandemic period.

He was speaking after the inauguration of the professional course IAS phase II (lot 2018) at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie by videoconference.

Minister of State for Personnel Singh said public services in 2020 have taken on a truly pan-Indian character as they are represented in almost all EU states and territories during the two last years.

He said that for a heterogeneous country like India, this is a huge asset and in line with the dream of the founding father of the country’s public services – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The minister said that officers have the opportunity to become the architect of a new India, the foundation of which was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Singh said over the past 10 weeks, India has shown the world that despite the crippling coronavirus crisis, the show is going on here as well as in the run-up to the pandemic, said a statement from. Ministry of Personnel.

The minister said that in the 73rd year of independence, India stood strong and looked to the future with great hope and potential.

“A diverse country like ours owes its sustenance to the constant efforts of the government to understand its citizens, to work with them with a goal of common development and to encourage them to excel in all areas of existence,” said Mr. Singh.

Referring to the very first online launch of the IAS professional course, he expressed satisfaction that out of 185 participants, almost 125 are from engineering and other professional backgrounds and added that this will greatly contribute to meet the modern development challenges facing India.

Mr. Singh stressed that the presence of 50 female officers in the lot is a true testimony of the mantra “empowerment of women” adopted by the Narendra Modi government.

He recalled that over the past 5 to 6 years, a series of new beginnings and innovations have been undertaken by the Prime Minister to provide new direction and direction to the bureaucracy in India.

The minister notably mentioned that a three-month mandate from the central government as assistant secretaries to the SAI agents at the start of their career had started a few years ago, which considerably improved their capacity building.

Likewise, an amendment to the 1988 Law on the Prevention of Corruption, made in 2018, adequately protects honest officials from harassment, because for the first time, a bribe donor was also introduced into the scope of the law, he said.

Mr. Singh said that so far more than 25 lakh agents have registered with the Ministry of Personnel’s iGoT platform (online module) tailored to the training needs of frontline workers attacking COVID-19 .

He stressed that this measure will contribute to the training of an SAI officer as a “corona warrior”.

Dealing with the concept of 115 aspiring districts based on 49 key indicators, Singh said that based on a scientifically designed mechanism, each ambitious district should focus on improving these key indicators and increasing its score, namely the best performing district in the state and the best performing district in the country in the given indicators.

He said that these are not necessarily backward districts and that the placement of young officers here will cause rapid changes in the indicators.

In his speech, Sanjeev Chopra, the director of LBSNAA, said that for the conduct of online sessions, the Learning Management System (LMS) known as GYAN is used at the academy.

“This is a one-stop online platform for participants. All participants can log in and access everything related to the course, such as power points, reading materials, online courses. live video, homework, quizzes, past lessons, etc., “said Chopra. .

This year there are 185 participants in phase II training.
