Two other campaign staff from President Donald Trump who helped organize his weekend rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma have tested positive for the coronavirus, the campaign announced on Monday.
The two staff members, members of the forward team, attended the rally but “wore masks for the duration of the event,” said campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh.
“After positive tests, the campaign immediately activated established quarantine and contact tracing protocols,” said Murtaugh.
Several hours before Saturday’s rally, the campaign reported that six members of the Tulsa forward team had tested positive for COVID-19.
Trump, who faces a tough re-election battle in November, continued the rally, his first since the start of the pandemic, despite fears by health officials that he could further spread the highly contagious virus.
