#Bulbbul – Superb cinematography. Haunting music. Finally, Netflix India offers something good. Sidharth Diwan and Amit Trivedi are the stars of the film. And what a superb performance by Tripti Dimri. pic.twitter.com/v2HhGcleRQ

“I haven’t seen a more perfect cast in a while,” tweeted a fan of the series. In reference to Anushka Sharma’s 2017 movie horror movie Bet, the fan wrote: “Also, I have to say this, Bet walked so that Bulbbul could fly. “
#Bulbbul must be the most beautifully filmed Indian film since Tumbbad. Strange, haunting and ultimately heartbreaking. I haven’t seen a more perfect overall cast in a while. And is there something @paramspeak can’t do. Also, I must say that Pari worked so that Bulbbul could fly.

“Her transition from an innocent and vulnerable girl to a confident and daring woman was just a big acting game,” read another tweet.
What got me moving in Bulbbul was the performance of lead actor Tripti Dimri.

Aside from the acting prowess of Tripti Dimri, the powerfully feminist film was also screened by an Internet section.
#Bulbbul is the kind of feminist film I’ve been looking for for a while. Although predictable fable-horror, it questions the evils of child marriage, gender violence and all patriarchy. pic.twitter.com/ZmovL5Ld8h

#Bulbbul is as beautiful as it is real. A fantastic horror rooted in the reality of patriarchy. Tripti Dimri steals the show. Riveting, to say the least. A horror film that will make you question the horrors of our society!

The Sharma brothers and sisters have truly mastered the art of green lighting, as dark as it is dark. Anvita Dutt’s #Bulbbul draws you into its gothic romance as an intrigue, its own Crimson Peak whose red rage turns into an evocative battle cry for empowerment.

It was not only Twitter that was very impressed with the performance of Tripti. Film critics shared a similar school of thought. Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for GalacticGaming, gave Bulbbul 3 out of 5 stars and wrote: “On the action front, Tripti Dimri justifies the top billing with a performance that mixes the flirtatious with the mysterious in a fine and enigmatic harmony. Parambrata Chattopadhyay eclipses Avinash Tiwary just a little sometimes, but the two actors pull their weight in tandem quite effectively in the frequent break-ins that their characters have. “
Tripti Dimri played incumbent Laila in the directed Sajid Ali Laila Majnu. She also starred in the 2017 film Poster Boys. Bulbbul was one of the nine new original films announced by Netflix in India in 2018. The film also presents Avinash Tiwary, Rahul Bose and Paoli Dam.
