The death of Sushant Singh Rajput on Sunday shocked Bollywood, which paid tribute to the media mourning the actor. Mr. Rajput was found dead at his residence in Mumbai; police say it was suicide. According to the PTI news agency, no suicide note has been found and an investigation is underway. Sushant Singh Rajput was 34 years old. Actress Anushka Sharma was one of many who shared tributes and memories on social media. She wrote in an Instagram article: “Sushant, you were too young and bright to be gone so early.”

Anushka Sharma shared the spotlight with Sushant Singh Rajput in the 2014 movie PK, whose distribution was titled by Aamir Khan. “I am so sad and upset to know that we live in an environment that could not help you through the problems you may have. May your soul rest in peace,” added Ms. Sharma in her message. She also shared a lot of memories of the series of PK, starring herself and Mr. Rajput. PK, who threw Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput as cross-border lovers, redefined the history of the box office not only in India but also in China, with a global collection of more than Rs 850 crore.

Tributes were also paid by Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and others.

Sushant Singh Rajput is best known for his roles in films such as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, Sonchiriya and Kai Po Che, which also debuted in Bollywood.
