Greater Glasgow police said emergency services were dealing with the incident with stab wounds

London:

Three people were killed in a stabbing attack in the Scottish city of Glasgow on Friday and the suspect was shot dead by police, British media reported on Friday.

“Three people are believed to have died after being stabbed in the stairwell of a hotel,” the public broadcaster BBC said. Scottish police said the suspect had been shot.

An eyewitness told Sky News that she saw several people covered in blood being treated by emergency services and armed police at the scene, around 1:15 p.m. (12:15 p.m. GMT). Sky said there have been deaths.

“A police officer was stabbed,” said the Scottish Police Federation.

Greater Glasgow police said emergency services were dealing with an incident on West George Street in central Glasgow.

“The situation is contained at the moment and there is no danger to the general public,” said the police.

Last week, three people died in the southern city of Reading when a man brandishing a five-inch knife went wild in a park. Police said they were treating the incident as terrorism.
