LJP leader Chirag Paswan credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the better-than-expected performance of the BJP in Bihar’s elections. He said the results show people’s continued confidence in the pillar of BJP. He said his party fought well in the election and saw a marginal increase in its share of the vote.
“The public of Bihar showed their confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The results made it clear that people are still excited about BJP. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory,” he tweeted in Hindi .
The BJP won 70 seats and leads in 4. Its main rival, RJD led by Tejashwi Yadav, won 73 seats and leads in 2. The ruling National Democratic Alliance leads with 125 seats, more than half the mark. in the assembly of 243 people.
The NDA made a comeback as most exit polls predicted an easy victory for the opposition alliance, which currently leads with 110 seats.
“All of the LJP candidates fought gloriously on their own without any alliance. The party’s share of the vote increased. It went to the polls with the determination of ‘Bihar first Bihari first’. It was strengthened in every district. for the benefit of the party in the future, ”Paswan added.
Mr. Paswan’s party had quit the NDA over a disagreement with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The party fielded candidates against Mr Kumar’s Janata Dal United, but spared the BJP.
During the campaign, Mr. Paswan congratulated PM Modi on several occasions. He even called himself “Hanuman to the Prime Minister”.
Many polling experts said Mr. Paswan’s decision to field candidates against the JDU contributed to the party’s dismal spectacle; the party led by Nitish Kumar won only 41 seats.
The LJP won 5.68% of the vote, competing for nearly 140 seats.
