The state government formed the SIT on Saturday (File)

Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy, who heads the task force to investigate the local police’s alleged collusion with gangster Vikas Dubey, will travel to the village of Bikru near Kanpur on Sunday. 8 police officers were killed by the thugs of the gangster.

“We will visit the place where the shooting took place (village of Bikru),” Bhoosreddy told PTI on his way to Kanpur.

The state government had set up SIT on Saturday.

Bhoosreddy heads the team, which will include additional DG Hari Ram Sharma and DIG Ravinder Goud, according to an official statement.

SIT will submit its report by July 31 after examining all angles, studying all related documents and carrying out a spot inspection in Kanpur, he said.

The team has been asked to investigate the effective measures that have been taken in all of the cases filed against Dubey, the statement said.

The SIT will also review what measures have been taken to quash the bail of a “feared criminal”, what measures have been taken against him under the Goonda Law, the National Security Law, the Law on gangsters, and if there was laxity and when. level, he added.

On July 3, eight police officers, including a DSP, were shot dead in the village of Bikru by Dubey’s henchmen.

Seven other people, including a civilian, were injured in a roof attack after the police entered the village last Thursday (July 2) at midnight to arrest Dubey.
