Mumbai:
Actor Varun Badola says that working in the film and television industry involves more mental challenges than physical ones, which is why an artist must try to keep his head down. The actor has made a name for himself with performances on shows like Koshish – Ek Aashaa, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, Astitva .. Ek Prem Kahani, but believes it is important to stay “balanced” through the ups and downs. “The biggest challenge is keeping your sanity. In the industry, the fight is more mental than physical. There have been times when I have played fantastic roles, but the problem was that no one was watching that.
“There were also times when I played roles I didn’t like, hated from the bottom of my heart, but the show went well so I had to keep going. You have to stay balanced, what let it happen, “Varun told PTI.
The 46-year-old actor, who was last seen in Mother Dad Ki Dulhan before the coronavirus lockout stopped production, said it was difficult to remain immune to the industry’s whirlwind, but must continue.
“It’s not always easy. You have to fight as hard as you can and not throw in the towel. Even if the pressure is there in the industry, I didn’t take it.”
In a career spanning nearly three decades, the actor also appeared in films and worked with Tigmanshu Dhulia as an assistant director in the filmmaker’s early films. Haasil and Charas.
Varun said there was a time when he had not been offered any acting assignments and so he moved on to management and writing. The move, the actor noted, was possible because he had the luxury of doing it.
“Not everyone has a chance at everything and there are so many things in the world that I cannot do. But yes, sometimes things get so difficult that you lose your mind. It doesn’t take too much time for that, “he said.
The actor is preparing for his SonyLIV web series, Your Honor, the Indian adaptation of the Israeli series Kvodo. The show tells the story of Bishan Khosla (Jimmy Sheirgill), who is to be promoted to a High Court judge, but things take a turn when his son is involved in a hit-and-run case.
The actor said Your Honor checked all the boxes for him to come on board – a captivating scenario, a competent cast and the possibility of playing a fair CRPF officer. “When you do a web series, you know that you will have a lot of time to work on your character. I really liked the story and I was blown away by what the series had to say. gave an opportunity to work with Jimmy, Mita Vashisht and I didn’t want to miss that.
“My character is a CRPF officer who did everything possible. It is about how life creates a difficult and trying situation when the accident happens and I had to keep this in mind while playing the role.” The series, directed by E Niwas, also includes Yashpal Sharma, Parul Gulati, Suhasini Mulay among others.
