New Delhi:

The private sector will now be allowed to carry out space activities such as building rockets, satellites and providing launch services, said ISRO chief K Sivan today.

He said the private sector can also be part of the Indian Space Research Organization’s interplanetary missions.

On Wednesday, the Cabinet of the Union approved the participation of the private sector in all space activities, including planetary exploration missions.

Dr. Sivan added, however, that the activities of ISRO will not decrease and that he will continue to conduct our space activities, including advanced research and development, interplanetary and human space flight missions.
