President Ram Nath Kovind said on Wednesday that he bowed to the exemplary courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the clash with China in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh to protect sovereignty and integrity from the country.
No less than 20 soldiers, including a colonel, were killed Monday evening in the violent clash between the Chinese and Indian armies.
“All those who sacrificed their lives in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh have respected the best traditions of the Indian armed forces. Their value will be eternally etched in the memory of the nation. My sincerest condolences to their families,” the president tweeted. .
“As Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, I bow to the exemplary courage and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country,” said President Kovind in another tweet.
