Patna:
The final rites of Havaldar Sunil Kumar, who killed his nation in a violent confrontation with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley from June 15 to 16, were performed on Thursday in Patna, Bihar.
People gathered in large numbers to witness the soldier’s final rites.
Earlier, an honor guard was given to the soldier at Patna Airport. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, cabinet ministers and leaders of several parties paid floral tributes to the soldiers at the airport.
At least 20 members of the Indian army, including a colonel-level officer, lost their lives in the violent confrontation in the Galwan Valley region of Ladakh on June 15.
The violent confrontation occurred in the Galwan Valley following an attempt by Chinese troops to “unilaterally change” the status quo during the de-escalation in Ladakh, India announced on June 16.
