New Delhi:
The long-awaited trailer of Mira Nair A suitable boy, which is based on the novel of the same name by Vikram Seth, released on Saturday on social networks and which instantly occupied a place on the list of trends. Set in newly independent India, the trailer follows the lives of four families, but the story centers on Rupa Mehra (Mahira Kakkar), who wants to find a suitable boy for her 19-year-old daughter Lata (performed by Tanya Maniktala). The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Maan Kapoor (played by Ishaan Khatter) and the forbidden romance of the courtesan Saeeda Bai (Tabu), which is frowned upon by society, especially the father of Maan Mahesh (Ram Kapoor) – Patriarch Kapoor. Ishaan and Tabu, blinded by love, become indifferent to society’s opinion of them.

When Ishaan was asked if it was easy to romanticize the veteran actress on the screen, during an episode of the Neha Dhupia talk show No Neha filter the actor said, “Because this person is Tabu, it really does half the work for you. He added,” I already said it and I said it in Dhadak also, it is always easy for me to play the fanatic lover. Because she is mesmerizing, she is and especially in this character. I am really delighted that people are seeing Saaeda Bai. “
Directed by Mira Nair and written by Andrew Davies, the web series has been filmed through a variety of locations in India, including Lucknow and Maheshwar. Filming for the series began in September 2019 and is scheduled for release on July 26 on BBC One. This is Tabu’s second project with Mira Nair, with whom she had previously worked The namesake, with Kal Penn and the late actor Irrfan Khan.
