Shiv Sena’s deputy chief Priyanka Chaturvedi said today that the Center must respond to China’s claim that sovereignty over the Galwan valley region in Ladakh belongs to him.
On Monday evening, 20 Indian soldiers, including a colonel, were killed in clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. It was the largest military confrontation between India and China in more than five decades.
After India ransacked the Chinese army’s claim to sovereignty over the Galwan Valley and asked Beijing to limit its activities on its side of the real line of control, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the Galwan Valley was on the Chinese side of the line of present Control.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Friday that no one is on Indian soil and that none of his posts have been captured.
Speaking to Twitter, Chaturvedi said: “Yesterday Prime Minister Modi assured the nation that no post / territory has been ceded to China, but here China is claiming the Galwan Valley as the their.”
