A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Mundra, Gujarat on Sunday for allegedly threatening the underage daughter of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, police said.
“Class 12 student from Namna Kapaya village was arrested for questioning in connection with a disgusting threat message that was posted on Mr. Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni’s Instagram account a few days ago. Kutch (West) Police Commissioner Saurabh Singh said. .
The teenager “confessed” to posting the threatening message on the Instagram account after the 2020 IPL match between cricket teams KKR and CSK, police said.
Ranchi police had shared information about the boy with Kutch (west) police and asked them to confirm if he was the one who posted the threat message, police said.
“We detained him for questioning after the Ranchi police informed us that the accused was from Mundra in Kutch district.”
“We have confirmed that the boy is the same one who posted the message. He will be handed over to the Ranchi Police Force as the FIR has been filed in that town,” police said, adding that a Ranchi Police team is likely to reach Kutch tomorrow. take custody of the teenager.
