The Supreme Court on Monday asked a petitioner calling for a court-watched CBI investigation into the death of former director of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Disha Salian, to apply to the Bombay High Court .
Disha Salian, 28, died on June 8 after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad, west Mumbai. Six days later, on June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found hanged at his home in Bandra.
The case was brought before a bench led by Chief Justice S A Bobde.
“Why don’t you go to the Bombay High Court? They know the case and they will make an informed decision and you can come here if there are any difficulties,” asked the bench, also including judges AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian. the petitioner’s lawyer.
The petition was filed by attorney Puneet Dhanda who claimed that the deaths of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput are interconnected as they occurred under suspicious circumstances.
Lawyer Vineet Dhanda, appearing for the petitioner, said a CBI investigation had been ordered in a similar case.
“You may or may not have a case. But why don’t you go to the High Court. What’s wrong with the Bombay High Court. They know all the officers and they have evidence. Come here if you will. have a problem, “said while allowing the petitioner to withdraw his plea with the freedom to apply to the High Court.
According to the plea, “… after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, various rumors and conspiracy theories were linked between the deaths of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput, as both died under suspicious circumstances and on top of their professional career success. “
