San Francisco:
On Wednesday, Snapchat stopped promoting messages from US President Donald Trump, claiming that they incite racial violence.
“We are not currently promoting the president’s content on Snapchat’s Discover platform,” said Snapchat in response to an AFP survey referring to the youth social media section for recommended content.
“We will not amplify voices that incite racial violence and injustice by offering them a free promotion on Discover.”
The move came after Twitter took an unprecedented stance by hiding an article by Trump who he claims has fueled violence, plunging rival Facebook into turmoil for refusing to punish the President’s false or inflammatory messages.
