In terrifying footage, dog nibbles body of dead girl in hospital UP

A video of a stray dog nibbling at the corpse of a young girl inside a Uttar Pradesh government hospital in the state’s Sambhal district has sparked widespread outrage.
The disturbing incident took place Thursday after the girl was taken to hospital following a traffic accident; it is not known if she died before arriving at the hospital.
A 20-second video widely shared on social media shows a dog munching on what appears to be a corpse covered in white cloth lying on a stretcher in an isolated area of the hospital.
The victim’s family accused the hospital of negligence. The hospital administration has recognized the problem of stray dogs.
“He was left unattended for an hour and a half. It is negligence of the hospital,” Charan Singh, the father of the girl, said as quoted by the ANI news agency.
The hospital administration told ANI that there was indeed a stray dog threat inside the hospital and that they had written to the local civic authorities, but no action was taken. However, in this case, the hospital’s chief medical superintendent claimed that they were not to blame.
“The body was handed over to the family after formalities. They did not want an autopsy and took it away. They may have left the body unattended for a minute when the incident happened,” said Dr Sushil Verma, quoted by ANI. .
The Samajwadi Party, which also shared the gruesome video on Twitter, called for strict action against those responsible.

ANI reported that a sweeper and a boy from the hospital ward had been hung up and an investigation committee had been formed about it.

It comes a day after a family in Aligarh State alleged their newborn baby died due to hospital negligence, adding that his body had animal bite marks.
