Washington, United States:
The main officer charged with the murder of George Floyd, the African-American man whose death sparked a mass protest movement, was released Wednesday on $ 1 million bail, court records show.
The 44-year-old white officer is set to stand trial in March along with three former colleagues for Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, which sparked America’s biggest anti-racist movement since the 1960s.
Chauvin was filmed on May 25 pressing his knee against handcuffed Floyd’s neck until he passed out in the street.
