All possible medical aid has been extended to the family, according to CBI sources

Kolkata:

A senior officer from the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) of the Kolkata unit has tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said on Tuesday.

The officer, who exercises a supervisory role in dealing with anti-corruption cases in the CBI unit in Kolkata, was the first to test the virus among senior officers of the investigative agency, have- they stated.

Sources within the agency said that all possible medical assistance had been extended to the family.

India has become the 5th most affected country in the world after the United States, Brazil, Russia and the United Kingdom, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The country recorded more than 9,000 cases of coronavirus for the sixth consecutive day, bringing the total number to 2,666,598, according to data from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning.
