Emmy nominations on Tuesday took a step forward for diversity, a new record for Netflix, and nods profusely for ESPN’s Michael Jordan documentary. Here are some of the main takeaways from the Television Academy announcement ahead of the Emmy Awards on September 20: Diversity – Of over 100 acting nominations in the series, limited series, and TV movie categories, more than one third went to black actors – a new record.
