Bombay:
Actor’s lawyer Rhea Chakraborty on Monday refuted Bihar police statement that she was “missing” and said so far she had not received any summons from them in connection with the case of the death of actor-friend Sushant Singh Rajput.
Bihar police last week filed an FIR against Ms Chakraborty for allegedly promoting the suicide of Sushant Rajput.
The complaint was brought by Mr Rajput’s father, KK Singh, against Ms Chakraborty and other members of her family.
Bihar police said earlier that his team had failed to locate Rhea Chakraborty.
However, his lawyer Satish Maneshinde said in a statement: “The claim by the Bihar police that Rhea Chakraborty is missing is not correct. So far no notification or summons have been received. by her from the Bihar Police. “
Ms Chakraborty’s statement has already been recorded by Mumbai police, Mr Maneshinde said.
“She cooperated with the police as her appeal progressed,” the statement said.
Mr Maneshinde in the statement reiterated that the Bihar police were not competent to investigate the case and therefore Rhea Chakraborty filed a petition to the Supreme Court requesting the transfer of the case to Mumbai.
Suspect Singh Rajput, 34, was found hanged from his apartment on June 14.
So far, Mumbai Police have taken statements from 56 people, including Mr Rajput’s sisters, Rhea Chakraborty and other movie figures.
A Bihar police team is also in Mumbai to investigate the “incitement to suicide” case on the basis of a complaint filed by the father of the deceased actor in Patna.
