Actress Tillotama Shome found a spot in the trend list after sharing a screenshot of a marriage proposal she had received from an Instagram user. The Instagram user sent a direct message to Ms. Shome on the social networking site and described himself as a “virgin and vegetarian guy” who is ready to undergo “a lie detection test, a narco-test and a brain mapping test. ” Ms. Shome shared the screenshot and wrote: “Ye kaisa shakahari mazak hai bhai? No thanks. Tillotama Shome made his big screen debut with Mira Nair Monsoon wedding and she followed him with movies like Shanghai, Qissa: The story of a lonely ghost, War children, Budhia Singh – Born to run, Hindi Medium and Kadvi Hawa. She was last seen Angrezi Medium. She was praised in international cinematographic circuits for his performance Qissa, in which she played the role of a girl raised as a boy.
Before working in cinema, Tillotama Shome was a theater artist and part of the Asmita theater group of Arvind Gaur. She moved to New York in 2004 for a two-year course in educational theater.
Tillotama Shome also featured in Ekta Kapoor’s web series Mentality, with Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shukla, Sandhya Mridul, Sanjay Suri and Dino Morea.
