- He also said that a personal experience a few years ago had left him “desperate”
- Mr. Shorey used the words “modus operandi” in this tweet
New Delhi:
With each passing day, the cracks in the film industry become like abyss. Actor Ranvir Shorey began his week with a tweet about how what he calls “the gang” in Bollywood wields power, detailing their “modus operandi” for exercising control. Mr. Shorey, 47, spoke about the power play and “guardians” of the cinematic fraternity in the weeks following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput June 14. He also revealed a personal experience a few years ago that left him “desperate” and forced him to leave the country for some time. Mr. Shorey used the words “modus operandi” in this tweet, expanding on it in his thread shared yesterday.
“The Gang”, with one of whom he had a bitter experience 15 years ago, is “a mutually beneficial alliance of a few powerful, corrupt and cunning old men, and a few young second-generation producers who have inherited the cinematic empires. Their goal is to have control over the top of the pyramid and have flexible stars, “Ranvir Shorey tweeted. He also described his alleged executioner as” saint-moly Dronacharya… except when it comes to covering up the indiscretions and crimes of one’s own offspring. “
The “modus operandi” invoked by Ranvir Shorey is this – a low-voice campaign of “lies and rumors” that will leave vulnerable targets “professionally and socially ostracized”. This essentially describes the alleged boycott of Sushant Singh Rajput that the investigation into his death, allegedly by suicide, is also being deepened.

Last week, Mr. Shorey spoke of the “desperation” he went through after allegedly being subjected to the “modus operandi” described above:
The desperation I experienced at the time was enough to break me down, but I survived thanks to my family and a few friends. I even had to leave the country because of the environmental toxicity for me.
Coincidence? No.
Operating mode? Yes.– Ranvir Shorey (@RanvirShorey) July 22, 2020
Ranvir Shorey hasn’t mentioned any names in any of his tweets – he explains in one that’s because he has no “explicit evidence” – but it’s not difficult for those who follow the gossip of celebrities to join the points. At the time, he mentions – 15 years ago – Mr. Shorey dated and broke up with actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, daughter of Bollywood heavyweight Mahesh Bhatt. In an interview with Hindustan Times this week, Ranvir Shorey said he was “isolated” by the Bhatts. “Every chance and every platform they would get, they would lie about me, saying that I am an alcoholic and an abuser. You feel so helpless and helpless because these people are so powerful that the press will listen to them and not take them. don’t even bother calling them… you for your side of the story, ”Mr. Shorey said.
Ranvir Shorey’s tweets follow the famous composer closely A R Rahman’s claim to be banned from films due to alleged campaign of rumors and disinformation against him. After filmmaker Shekhar Kapur explained how the film industry’s alleged resentment of Rahman’s Oscar won out, sound engineer Resul Pookutty also took into account his own claim that he lost his job in the Hindi film industry. Rahman and Mr. Pookutty both won their Oscars for the film Slumdog Millionaire.
