Actor Rakul Preet Singh has reached the office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to record his statement in connection with the agency’s investigation into the alleged Bollywood-drug link.
This is the first time that the 29-year-old actor has appeared for questioning before the anti-drug agency which has launched an investigation following discussions retrieved from the phone of arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty.
Besides Rakul Preet Singh, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were also summoned by the BCN as part of its expanded drug investigation related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case, which sparked a drug and Bollywood after discovery of incriminating WhatsApp chats. by investigators.
The names of Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan emerged during the interrogation of Ms Chakraborty, who was arrested on September 9 for buying drugs.
Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently housed at Byculla Prison in Mumbai, has been accused of “being an active member of a drug union” and of organizing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, with whom she has frequented his last months.
Ms Chakraborty has denied the NCB’s allegations that she is an active member of a “drug union”.
The names of Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor were revealed in WhatsApp chats retrieved from the phone of Sushant Singh Rajput’s talented agent Jaya Saha, also questioned by investigators. Discussions suggested that the actors had used drugs.
Deepika Padukone was summoned tomorrow and Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor on Saturday.
