Kota, Rajasthan:
A 14-year-old boy reportedly hanged himself to death early Saturday morning shortly after he stopped playing PUBG overnight and fell asleep, police said.
Hansraj Meena, police chief of the railway colony, said that the boy, who was the son of an army man and a class 9 pupil, was found hanging from the fan grill in his room early Saturday morning.
Mr. Meena said, according to the boy’s family members, that the boy had downloaded the game program to his mother’s cell phone three days ago and has been playing the game continuously since.
He continued to play the game until 3 am in a room where his brother was studying, said Meena, adding that the boy later went to sleep in the neighborhood.
The boy was rushed to hospital after being found hanging from the ventilator grill in the morning, but was pronounced dead when he arrived, said Meena.
No suicide note was found in the case, police said.
The boy lived in Gandhi’s colony in Kota with his mother and brother, while his father is currently stationed in Arunachal Pradesh.
The boy’s body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy, police said.
