Jaipur:
The government of Rajasthan has decided to ban the sale of firecrackers during the holiday season in the state following the crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic.
Protecting people’s lives is paramount for the government at this difficult time, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said when reviewing the coronavirus situation on Sunday.
He also said the government has decided to keep state schools and colleges closed until November 16.
Mr Gehlot was reviewing the situation created by the coronavirus crisis and the state government’s “no mask-no entry” and “war for the pure” campaign.
The chief minister also discussed the guidelines for “Unlock6” at the meeting, according to a statement.
He ordered strict measures to be taken against the sale of firecrackers and fireworks in the state and polluting vehicles circulating without aptitude to protect the health of patients infected with the coronavirus and the general public from the toxic smoke which by emanates, he said.
In a situation like this, people should avoid using fireworks on Diwali, he said.
Mr Gehlot said the process of recruiting 2,000 doctors in the state is expected to be completed soon. The selected doctors are expected to receive appointments within 10 days, he added.
During the discussion on the “Unlock6” guidelines, Principal Secretary (Home) Abhay Kumar said educational institutions and coaching centers, including state colleges and schools, would remain closed for activities regular educational programs until Nov. 16, the statement said.
Swimming pools, cinemas, theaters, multiplexes, amusement parks, etc. will remain closed until November 30, he said.
The maximum guest limit at weddings is expected to be 100, the statement said.
