The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a kidnapped nine-year-old boy and apprehended his captor at Assam’s Dibrugarh station, an NF Railway spokesperson told Guwahati on Saturday.

Having received information about the kidnapping, RPF searched Dibrugarh station and rescued the boy and apprehended the kidnapper before he boarded a special train on Friday, NFR CPRO Subhanan said. Chanda.

The kidnapper, a resident of Mahadevpur, Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh, allegedly fled with the underage boy without the consent of his parents who are residents of Dewpani in the Lower Dibang Valley District, in Arunachal Pradesh, CPRO said.

Both were then handed over to the government railway police (GRP) in Dibrugarh for further action according to law, he added.

In another incident, after receiving information about bragging activities, the RPF carried out a joint raid with local police in Bahadurganj, under the Kishanganj district of Bihar.

During the raid, one person was arrested at his store for unauthorized purchase and supply of electronic railway tickets.

The joint raid and search operation led to the seizure of 19 electronic railway tickets worth Rs 57,008, a laptop, a mobile handset, Mr Chanda said.

A case has been recorded on this subject.
