The properties of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife were tied today.

The Ghazipur District Magistrate ordered the seizure of properties belonging to the wife and brothers-in-law of BSP MP Mukhtar Ansari while the Mau administration demolished an illegal building by two of his aides.
Land and building worth Rs 28.58 crore owned by Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsha Ansari and her brothers-in-law – Anwar Shahzad and Sharjeel Raza – have been attached under the article 14 (1) of the Gangster Law, said Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi.
Meanwhile, his close associates, Irshad and Maqsood, had illegally erected a building on government land on Bandha Road in the Kotwali police station area in Mau, which was being used for commercial purposes.
The district administration, with the help of the police, had the illegal construction demolished on Saturday, said police official Tribhuwan Nath Tripathi.
They asked the district administration to give them more time, which was refused, pointing out that a notice had been served on them in this regard months ago. The policeman said Irshad and Masood were brothers.
