Before his release new movie Laxmii, actor Akshay Kumar wrote a heartfelt note for director Raghava Lawrence on Monday. Laxmii will premiere on Disney + Hotstar at 7:05 p.m. today. Akshay’s special note to the director of the film came after the latter thanked the actor for working on his film on social media. Earlier Monday, Raghava Lawrence shared a heartwarming note in which he expressed his gratitude to Akshay Kumar for saying yes to such a “difficult role”. In response to the director’s tweet, Akshay Kumar wrote: “Thank you very much, Lawrence Sir, neither making this movie nor playing this role was possible without you.”
Raghava Lawrence makes his Bollywood directorial debut with Laxmii. This is a Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil movie Kanchana which was also led by him. In Laxmii, Akshay Kumar stars as a man possessed by a transgender ghost.
In his Monday note, Raghava Lawrence wrote: “Through Tamil Film Kanchana, I wanted to convey the pain and struggles of transgender people and the film received a lot of appreciation from the transgender community and audiences. Likewise, when Akshay sir stars in his Hindi remake, I hope the post reaches a wider audience. Normally actors won’t take such difficult roles, but I believe that Akshay sir being such a good human being he cares a lot about society and before he has given so many good movies to message … Special thanks to Akshay sir for accepting and doing this role. He also thanked actress Kiara Advani, who appears as Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film, and producer Tusshar Kapoor.

Laxmii was previously titled Laxmmi Bomb. The directors changed the title of the film last month.
