Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his final respects to Union Minister and Party Leader Lok Janashakti (LJP) Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence in New Delhi this morning.

President Ram Nath Kovind, National Chairman of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) JP Nadda, Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Giriraj Singh also paid tribute to the leader.

Ram Vilas Paswan – a cabinet minister to Prime Minister Modi and party founder Lok Janshakti – died Thursday in a Delhi hospital recovering from heart surgery.

His body reached his Delhi residence at the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) early in the morning.

The head of the LJP and the son of Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan, the Minister of Health Dr Harsh Vardhan were among others present at the AIIMS in the morning.

Meanwhile, flags in Rashtrapati Bhavan and in Parliament fly at half mast to admit the death of the Union Minister.

Interior Ministry officials said a state funeral would be granted to Ram Vilas Paswan. The cremation will take place in Patna on Saturday.
