President Ram Nath Kovind called on people to resolve to become a lamp of hope and prosperity for the poor, destitute and needy this Diwali by sharing happiness.
In a message to his fellow citizens, President Kovind called on people to honor Mother Nature by celebrating a pollution-free, environmentally friendly and clean Diwali.
“This festival, celebrated by people of various religions and sects, strengthens the feeling of unity, goodwill and brotherhood among the people of our country,” said the president.
“The festival inspires people to work for the service of humanity,” he added.
“Let us resolve on this occasion to become a lamp of hope and prosperity for the poor, the destitute and the needy of society by sharing our happiness like a lamp lights many lamps by sharing its light. Diwali is also a festival of cleanliness, so let’s honor Mother Nature by celebrating a pollution-free, eco-friendly and clean Diwali, ”President Kovind said.
In his message, the President said: “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens living in India and abroad.”
“May this great feast of happiness and light bring joy, peace and prosperity to every house in our country,” he said.
