Ahmedabad:

Before the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Pakistani sister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Qamar Mohsin Shaikh, could not meet him in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, so she sent him the sacred thread – Rakhi by mail .

Ms Shaikh is originally from Pakistan but is now settled in Ahmedabad after her marriage and this would be her 25th Raksha Bandhan with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking about this with PM Modi’s sister ANI, Ms. Shaikh said, “We have known PM Modi for 30 to 35 years. When I first met him in Delhi he learned that I am from Karachi and married here, he called me behen (sister). I do not have any brothers. So after two or three years when we visited Delhi again on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I tied rakhi to his wrist. “

“Once in Raksha Bandhan, I told him that I would pray for you that you would come to Gujarat and become the chief minister. At that time he laughed and later when he became the chief minister of Gujarat. On Rakshabandhan, I told him that my prayers have been accepted by God. Later, he even became Prime Minister, ”she added.

This year, Ms. Shaikh will not be able to tie rakhi to PM Modi’s wrist, therefore, she sent the sacred thread by post. She said that her rakhi and her book had been received by PM Modi.

“I wanted to link the 25th rakhi to the Prime Minister personally but due to the COVID-19 crisis I will not be able to do it, everyone is facing problems. I pray that the next five years will go well for him so that the whole world will recognize the positive decisions he has made. I pray for her long life, ”she said as PM Modi was in good health.

Rakshan Bandhan is celebrated on August 3 this year.
