Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated “Ekta Mall”, a special store built near the Unity Statue in Kevadiya, Gujarat, where tourists can purchase hand-crafted crafts and crafts owned by different states under one roof.
After inaugurating the “Ekta Mall”, PM Modi spent considerable time in stalls selling traditional items from Jammu and Kashmir and the North East region.
The mall, developed on the theme of unity in the diversity of handcraft and handcraft, spans 35,000 square feet near the 182-meter-high Unity Statue at Kevadiya in the district of Gujarats Narmada.
The imposing monument, dedicated to Sardar Patel, has become a popular tourist spot in Gujarat.
PM Modi, accompanied by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, later visited various stores in the mall.
At the Jammu and Kashmir booth, PM Modi learned about the different products and showed a keen interest in knowing the manufacturing process.
The mall, a two-story air-conditioned building, is home to 20 different emporia representing the handmade craft and craft traditions of various states, a government statement said.
The mall is home to emporia of Garvi Gurjari, Purbashree, Kairali, Mrugnayani, Pumpuhar, Gangotri and Kaveri, among others.
It is also home to Khadi India and Coir Board stores, among other establishments, the statement added.
