Prime Minister Modi praised President Kovind for his rich insight and keen understanding of political issues, saying these are great assets to our nation.

President Kovind was born on this day in 1945 in the village of Paraunkh in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
He was sworn in as the 14th President of India on July 25, 2017.
