Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey on Sunday accused Vinay Tiwari, the IPS officer from Patna who is in Mumbai investigating a case related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was “forcibly quarantined »By the civic authorities of the metropolis.

Mr Tiwari heads a team of Bihar police which are in Mumbai to investigate a case of “aiding and abetting suicide” on the basis of a complaint filed by the father of the deceased actor in Patna.

“IPS officer Vinay Tiwari arrived in Mumbai today from Patna on an official mission to lead the police team there, but was forcibly quarantined by BMC officials in 11pm today, ”Bihar Police Director General (DGP) Pandey tweeted.

“He was not accommodated in the IPS mess, despite the request, and was staying at a guesthouse in Goregaon,” he said.

Suspect Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 24.

Last month, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed an FIR in Patna for “incitement to suicide” naming actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is believed to be close to the dead Patna actor, and accused family members. Tiwari was named SP City (East) in Patna.

Mumbai Police, who are also investigating the death case, have so far taken statements from nearly 40 people, including those of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, his cook and people in the film industry. , including filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, film critic Rajeev Masand, director. -producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and filmmaker Aditya Chopra.
