New Delhi:
Congressman Shashi Tharoor today rejected the BJP’s demands for an apology from his party for questions posed to the government after the Pulwama terror attack in February last year. Mr Tharoor said he “is still trying to figure out what Congress is supposed to apologize for …”.
“I’m still trying to figure out what Congress is supposed to apologize for. For expecting the government to protect our soldiers? For rallying around the flag rather than politicizing a national tragedy? For expressing its condolences to the families of our martyrs? ” he said.
I’m still trying to figure out what @INCIndia is supposed to apologize. To expect the government to ensure the safety of our soldiers? To rally around the flag rather than to politicize a national tragedy? For expressing condolences to the families of our martyrs? #Pulwamahttps://t.co/oxY2UOFeum

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday referred to a sensational claim by a Pakistani minister – that his country was responsible for the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers were killed after a suicide bomber rammed into a car in a military convoy.
“Pakistan has admitted its part behind the terrorist attack on Pulwama. Now Congress … who spoke about conspiracy theories must apologize to the country,” Javadekar tweeted, referring to the leaders’ statements. from Congress earlier this year, including Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Tharoor.
In February, on the first anniversary of the attack, Mr. Gandhi tweeted three questions and sought the outcome of an investigation into the attack. Mr Tharoor also spoke, saying it was an “insult” to the soldiers who had been killed that there were no clear answers.
In August, the NIA named the terrorist mastermind based in Pak Masood Azhar and his brother, Rauf Asghar, as the main conspirators behind the attack. The 13,500-page indictment sheet lists 19 defendants and details how the planning and execution of one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Kashmir was carried out from Pakistan, where Masood Azhar’s Jaish-e-Mohammad is based.
Pakistani Minister Fawad Chaudhury said on Thursday: “Human Hindustan ko ghus ke maara (We hit India in their homes.) “He then told GalacticGaming that his statement had been” misinterpreted “.” Pakistan does not allow any terrorism, I have been misinterpreted, “he said.
The Pulwama attack – which took place weeks before Lok Sabha’s election last year – and the subsequent air force airstrikes, sparked political battles over a narrative built by the BJP around a harsh anti-terrorism policy that the party repeatedly raised during the campaign.
Congress and the left were among those who accused the BJP of capitalizing on the issue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning also criticized the opposition for its stance on Pulwama, saying the Pakistani minister’s revelations revealed the real face of the opposition.
